John Arnott Associates is the mainstream organisation in the UK providing Clerk of Works  Services on a full and part time basis to a wide ranging client base

This firm was formed in 1978 by the founder, John Arnott, and following his death in 1990, was acquired by the Scottish surveying consultancy practice, Foote McBride Bunton.

Since June 1992, Sheila Bunton, former partner in Foote McBride Bunton has taken control of John Arnott Associates as Principal.  Jim Shaw, Senior Manager, along with 2 Area Managers and 2 Client contact managers , assist Sheila with the management of John Arnott Associates

At present John Arnott Associates employ 48 Inspectors across the UK offering a wide range of experience in the construction industry, for a diverse variety of contracts for clients/architects/engineers.

We act on our client's behalf, inspecting every stage of construction to ensure that projects are built to the standard of quality required and expected of our client, right through to practical completion.

We have provided site inspectors on many building and civil engineering projects throughout the UK, on traditional construction, new and refurbishment contracts, design and build projects and partnering contracts.

Our Managers provide technical support to all our clerks of works and when required act as trouble-shooter for any contractual or technical disputes.  Training, maintaining technical competence, technical site audits, attendance at client meetings, quality assurance are all functions undertaken by John Arnott Associates to meet the requirements of providing a quality service

Recently we have added stock condition and survey reports to the services we offer clients.  This includes preparing long term maintenance programmes with budget costs followed by management of the maintenance operations

We are ISO 9002 registered and we have our own comprehensive quality documentation, which includes site checklists, formal weekly reporting and site audits etc.
